Mark of the Ninja just launched on Steam and it’s available here!
http://store.steampowered.com/app/214560/
If you don’t have an Xbox or were just waiting for the PC version, the time has come! Please spread the word to any friends you know that might be interested, as we had a lot of requests for a PC version and we want as many folks as possible to know it’s out there.

are you planning to release the game DRM-free also (e.g. humble-store, gog or gamersgate)?
Hard to say! As like 99% of PC games are sold on Steam, that’s what we have to target first. We definitely want to aim for as many platforms as possible, there’s just a lot of details (way more than you might expect!) that need to be sorted out to do that. It’s definitely something we’re considering though!
Thanks guys downloading now woot!
Any chance for a OSX release in the future? Thanks!
Is Mark of the Ninja region locked? Steam says “This item is currently unavailable in your region”…
What region are you in? The game isn’t region locked, but there are few areas where we haven’t received a rating from that region’s rating board (yet) and we can’t release there until that process is completed. We submitted all the ratings at the same time, but I guess some rating boards just process that stuff a lot more slowly than others.
I’m in South Africa. As far as I know, games is already available on XBLA, but our FPB (Film and Publications Board) may be treating the PC version differently and they are notoriously slow… Thanks!
Yeah, South Africa and Taiwan are the last two regions (I think?) that are outstanding. And yeah, they do rate the XBLA and PC versions and make them go through the entire process even though they’re the same games. Bureaucracy =( Hopefully that will be wrapped soon though, we don’t want you to wait any more than you do!
i recently played this game and thoroughly enjoyed it. i cant wait to see what you ppl come up with next.
Make a downloader cover for “Mark of the ninja” =)
The game is really good. Your best game yet. Congrats. It a great game for us 2d lovers! It really packs a punch ! Also thank you for bringing it to the PC!
Nels,
Congratulations to you and the team for an absolutely fantastic game. Got it on Steam, 4 levels in and already don’t want it to end… even if I can’t resist the urge to play. Just. One. More. Level.
The controls, systems and level designs are fantastic, I looooove the art style, especially the backgrounds, and the ambient sounds are wonderful too. Good job everyone!
I hope it sells fantastically, and you guys do more stuff like this…
PS I think Klei’s games are perfectly suited for the PSVita
Make it happen!
It would be great (just as Mandrak said already) if you would release a DRM free version for gog or silmilar sites. It would only made the game more popular – It deserves it
This game is incredible fin to plz have finished normal mode nearly plus mode going for all archievements !
Sighhhh….still waiting in South Africa for our region to unlock!!!! This is bordering on ludicrous.
Can somebody please place the price in dollars…I can even find the game on steam let alone the price.
Yeah, we still don’t have the rating back from the SA ratings board, which means we can’t legally release the game there yet. We want to release as it soon as we can, but speeding up that process any is beyond our control.
The price is 15 USD. I’m not sure what that will be in rand, but it should be comparable to other games on Steam that sell for 15 USD, as we follow Steam’s regional pricing guidelines.
Eagerly anticipating a DRM-free version as well.
Thanx for the response Nels…at least we still now its in process then…and at a nice price as well.
Any chance you guys will be releasing on PSN shortly?
Klei,
Seems already excellent, will be even perfect if DRM free.
just drop me a mail when it appear on GOG one day, I am sold.
Have the sales gone well on steam?
Count me in for the DRM-free release, if it ever happens.
When is this game will be released on the ps3.
Please bring to the OSX
Still waiting for the South Africa PC version release :’( Any idea when it’ll reach Steam? Or should I continue checking daily? CAN’T WAIT!
Yeah, we’re still waiting on the SA rating boards. We had no idea it would take this long! We just got back the one from Taiwan though, so SA is all that’s left. Hopefully they’ll finishing pushing their paperwork soon and we’ll be allowed to make the game available on SA. Thanks for your patience, we can’t wait to get it to you guys!
Thanx for the feedback Nels. I am checking everyday on steam to see when this is release for us here in South Africa.
Count me on the list of those waiting for a GOG, DotEmu or otherwise DRM-free release. Most of PC games are sold on Steam because most game publishers don’t give us another choice.
Please release this on PSN!!! My PC is too old to run games, and I don’t own an Xbox, but this game looks amazing!
Klei,
.
I think the SA rating boards might have ‘misplaced’ your forms. Not an unusual occurance in the country. Anyway, can’t wait to play the game. And I also would love to see a PSN version sometime in the future. I would buy it again (if I can get my hands on it on Steam)
Sighs, checking everyday. Don’t how much longer I can wait…
Just another voice for a DRM-free release on GOG.com. You should drop them a note; I’m sure they’d love to hear from you! People like me would only be too pleased to pay non-Steam-sale prices to be treated fairly.
It feels very good to know this game is on PC, but it would be even better if we could have a DRM-free option. I’m not very comfortable with Steam, (even if their service is top-notch) because I’m not sure what would happen to my games if Valve suddendly goes bankrupt…so having a non-Steam option would be the best case scenario.
Before buying this game, though, I have a question: Steam is selling this game right now for 50% of the original price. Do you also get less money if the customers buy during these sales or is it only Steam’s loss? I’m feeling tempted to get it now to take advantage of the price drop, but if you guys somehow end up earning less too I’ll happily buy it for the full price soem other time…
I have the game on xbox, but I also want it on pc, but I’m also in South-Africa, so no game for me on pc
Any updates on the PC South Africa release? Playing Shank 2 in the mean time, but the anticipation is reaching critical levels!
Still nothing yet =( I heard a rumour that a strike (or maybe a past strike that’s since been resolved) was delaying things? Believe me, we’re as frustrated as you are.
I don’t think this is going to happen? over 3 months now.
Other games are released on a daily basis here in South Africa…why just not Mark of the Ninja?
What other options are available to get this game?
I have just lodged a query with the FPB here in South Africa:
Let us see if they respond:
I attach a copy of the correspondence:
Dear Sir/Madam,
Could you be so kind as to inform me what progress has been made on the classification of the PC game distributed by Steam, Mark of the Ninja.
The game has been submitted for classification over 3 months ago and to date no progress has been forthcoming.
It is with total embarassment that the online community and game developers inform us that we are the only country IN THE WORLD who are unable to purchase this game via legimate means due to the fact that our classifications board (and I blush as I write this) has been sitting on the application for months on end and the only response they receive is “it is in progress”.
I personally find this as a South African, extremely embarassing and highly unprofessional.
Could you please be so kind as to give me, a South African tax paying citizen an update on your progress and intended release time for the classification.
Yours faithfully

Thank You R3BBIT! Your top notch writing skills aside, that letter really gets to the point! Hope they reply. As a developer myself, I really enjoy supporting games I have true respect for. Whyyyyy do they make it so difficult to play this game???! I will be honest, I’ve held out a VERY long time, and the prospect of finding other means of procuring this game is seeming more attractive by the month :’(
Any word on this yet?
I hope to see a port for Linux
This is my favorite stealth game. Thank you. Please make a sequel.
75% off on Steam and I can’t buy it. Any word on when this will be available in South Africa?
I want to give you my money, why is that so difficult!?
The very heart of your writing shilst sounding agreeable at first, did not settle very well with me personally after some time. Someplace within the paragraphs you were able to make me a believer but just for a while. I nevertheless have a problem with your leaps in assumptions and one would do well to fill in those breaks. In the event you actually can accomplish that, I will definitely end up being fascinated.

Its such as you learn my thoughts! You seem to grasp so much approximately this, such as you wrote the ebook in it or something. I think that you simply can do with some% to force the massage house a bit, however other than that this is magnificent blog. An excellent read. I will certainly be back.
The game is now available on Steam.
Thanks for pulling through. Many people are so incompetent in this country these days. Going to start downloading on Steam tonight!
Brilliant, thanks for the headsup, going to download this immediately!!!!
Hello i have one question do u know why the give to a friend option isnt working ? when i click it it opens a steam browser which says there is not dcl available for mark of the ninja
w00t ?
Interesting! We are preparing the for the Special Edition DLC we’re going to be releasing soon; maybe configuring some things for that caused that link to start behaving strangely?
In the mean time, you can buy the game as a gift directly from its main Steam page: http://store.steampowered.com/app/214560/
Thanks for letting us know!
